We are speciality dealers in British motorcycles from between the 1920s and 1970s.
This naturally includes Triumph, but we also import and service pre-war bikes and those from other rare makers that are scarcely seen these days.
Over the span of my career as a mechanic I have worked on several hundred bikes.

Classic bikes are often avoided on image alone.
For example there is the idea that British bikes break down easily and don't run well.

However, if you have a properly maintained British bike these words will never pass your lips. There has always been a partly bad image attached to British bikes because of the fact that compared to Japanese bikes or Harleys etc. there are few places where you can get them properly serviced. Though it can be said of any old bike, if it breaks down easily or doesn't run well then it is either because it hasn't been maintained appropriately,
or its parts have become worn or damaged over longs years of use and so it can not perform at its original full capacity.

旧車にはイメージだけで敬遠されていることがあります。例えば、英車は壊れやすい、英車は調子が悪いなど。

きちんと整備された英車に乗っていればこの言葉は出ません。昔から英車は日本車やハーレーに比べしっかりと整備できる場所が少なかった故に、一部で悪いイメージが付いています。旧車全体に言えることですが、壊れやすかったり調子が悪いのは適切な整備がされていない、または長年の使用によって部品の磨耗、損傷から本来の性能が発揮されてないだけです。
